Today is International Self-Care Day. While trips and spa days are great for relaxing, they can be expensive. Here are a few free ways to practice self-care.

Take a Walk
Heading outside, away from technology and distractions, is a great way to recharge and lower stress. Leave your headphones and enjoy your surroundings. Take some time and pay attention to yourself. Breathe in the fresh air and listen to the trees in the wind. Many people believe that the closer we get to nature, the calmer we’ll be.

Donate Things You Don’t Use
Take a look around your home and see if anything is taking up space. If you have perfectly good items you no longer use, donate them to charity. Clothes are a great example. Going through your closet and drawers, you might find clothing you haven’t worn in a long time. By giving them away, you’ll be clearing your space of things you don’t need, and passing them off to others who can use them.

Write Down Your Accomplishments
We all have goals, but we don’t always acknowledge when we reach them. Think about everything you’ve accomplished in the past and write them down. Look at what you’ve been able to do, and let it be a positive reminder of your self-worth. You can even have another list of goals you want to accomplish. Moving items from one list to another will make you feel great!
