What to Buy and What to Skip in November

The month of November is full of deals, but there are a few items to avoid. Here is a list of what you should buy and skip in November.

Buy: Electronics

This is the time to get some brand new toys, because Black Friday Sales will see items like TVs, laptops, and gaming systems at reduced prices. You could save hundreds of dollars on purchases, and some sales are for the entire month. Keep track of your favorite stores and see when they start offering deals. Check out online deals as well to make sure you find the best price.

Skip: Linens

January is typically when you’ll find sales on bedding and linens. There will be huge savings, but you’ll have to wait just a bit. Retailers will post their sales just after the New Year to entice shoppers who might be wary after spending during the holidays.

Buy: Tools

Black Friday isn’t just a time for electronics. Hardware and home improvement stores also have big sales with their inventory. Check out discounts on power tools, toolboxes, and other equipment. Purchase a gift for that handy person in your life, or replace old or damaged tools in your home.

Skip: Jewelry

The holidays are not a good time to buy jewelry. Stores are anticipating a lot of gifting between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day, so they are fully stocked and selling at full price. The best time to buy jewelry is early spring. The season has just ended and jewelers are looking to empty their cases for next season’s pieces.
