No matter how large or small your budget is, you don’t want to waste anything you purchase. Here are a few tips to make sure you use every last drop of these household items.
Toothpaste
Squeezing your toothpaste will only give you so much after a point. However, that doesn’t mean the tube is empty. You can get a few more brushings by cutting the tube open. Cut the end and then go down the sides of the tube. Open it up and get the last bits of toothpaste before you throw it away.
Soap
When your bar of soap gets really small and thin it seems like there’s no point to keep using it. Instead of throwing it away keep it and add it to a new bar of soap. Get it wet enough where the soap becomes soft and press it into a fresh bar and leave the new soap overnight to dry. This is a great way to get the most out of each bar of soap you purchase.
Dryer Sheets
This tip is pretty simple. All you have to do is cut the dryer sheets in half. This will double each box you purchase. You can also use a dryer sheet more than once. Another use for dryer sheets is a deodorizer for your trash. Place them at the bottom of your garbage can, under the bag, and it will help decrease odors.
Laundry Detergent
There are typically lines inside the detergent cap to show you how much detergent to use, but those lines aren’t necessarily correct. Detergent companies want you to use more than you need in order to get you to purchase their product more frequently. Modern detergent is very concentrated, so all you really need is a shot glass full. This will save you money and allow you to get the most out of your detergent.
