Many people consider reading to be an inexpensive hobby. But if you are an avid reader, you know how the cost of books can really add up over time. We’ve put together four ways you can save money on your reading material…continue reading to learn more!
Visit your local thrift store. You probably already know that you can purchase discounted books at used bookstores, but did you know that your local thrift store sells books, too? Before you purchase a bestseller, browse through the selection at Goodwill or the Salvation Army.
Use your library card. This is a no-brainer, as the cheapest books you can find are the free ones at your library! In addition to physical books, many libraries across the country have thousands of eBooks available for download. Be sure to check out the local libraries in your region to enhance your reading material.
Host a book swap. If your bookcases are full or you are feeling uninspired by what is on your shelves, invite a few fellow readers over for a book swap. Encourage people to bring up to 20 books from their own shelves, and then organize the picks by genre. To reduce the likelihood of duplicate books, ask everyone to share what they are bringing in advance.
