Tips for Holiday Travel

With the holidays coming up, there’s a good chance you will be traveling. It might be for a vacation, or visiting friends and family. Here are some tips to help you make smart travel decisions, and save some money!

Pick the Right Days

It’s important to plan ahead and choose the best days to travel. There are certain days of the week and dates around holidays that are more expensive than others. How long do you plan on being away? Figuring out the best days of the week to leave and come back could save you a lot of money.

Expect the Best, but Prepare for the Worst

The harsh winters usually make it very difficult to travel. The wind, cold, and snow have a habit of forcing plans to change. Make sure to have an emergency fund just in case that happens. You might need to stay an extra day or stop in the middle of your trips. Having some extra cash for emergencies will give you some peace of mind during your travels!

Food for the Road

Snacking is one of the best parts of a trip, but it can also get expensive. If you pack your favorite snacks before you set out, you won’t have to buy any along the way. You’re going to stop for gas if you’re driving, so already having food will prevent additional spending.
