Four Ways to Manage Rising Food Costs

We all have to pay the grocery bill. Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more difficult with rising food costs. Here are four simple tips to help you save money.

Shop your pantry. Don’t buy anything until you know what you already have at home, this way you won’t be unpacking pricey food items from your grocery bag only to find you have the same items sitting in your pantry.

Minimize food waste. Most people don’t realize how much food they throw away every day – from uneaten leftovers to produce that could be repurposed. Make sure to store food correctly, keep your refrigerator clutter-free, and utilize your freezer!

Cut back on meat. Eating less meat on a regular basis will have a significant impact on your grocery bill. Meats like beef, pork and chicken tend to be some of the more expensive items – inflation or not. Try going meatless one or two days a week and turning to cheaper alternatives, like beans, rice and pasta.
