Do you ever finish your workday feeling like you weren’t able to accomplish everything on your list? Try these four tips to help you increase your efficiency and work smarter!

Focus on one task at a time. What feels like doing multiple tasks at a time is actually our brain anxiously switching back and forth. Single-tasking is proven to help you complete tasks quicker and at a higher quality than trying to do multiple things at once. Single-tasking also lowers your stress levels and can even make you more creative! Click here for several tips to help you master the art of single-tasking.

Take regular breaks. It may be tempting to avoid taking the time for a break, but when you neglect to give yourself necessary downtime, it can harm your overall productivity. This may result in fatigue or burn-out. Give yourself a few 5-minute breaks throughout the day, allowing you to recharge and clear your mind for the next task.

Time block your schedule. Using time blocks within your schedule can also help increase your productivity. With this strategy, you could set a time limit for each of the tasks you work on – consider 60-minute or 30-minute blocks. You could print your time block schedule, or use the notepad function on your computer or phone.

Limit interruptions. Even though you may enjoy relationships with colleagues, losing track of time due to conversations or informal meetings can hinder your workflow and decrease overall productivity. Consider using these strategies to limit the number of interruptions during your day.
