SeaComm Spent the Summer Paying It Forward

The SeaComm Pay-It-Forward Program continues to deliver random acts of kindness across Northern New York and Vermont. Continue reading to learn about our most recent events!

Covering the cost of orders at Dunkin’ in Potsdam: In June, we covered the cost of drive-thru orders at Dunkin’, in Potsdam! Beginning at 11am, the first 100 drive-thru customers to arrive on National Donut Day, June 4, had their order paid for by SeaComm. We also provided each individual with a phone fan, reusable straw, ball cap, and other giveaway items. Pictured from left are Dawn Stevenson and SeaComm Business Development Manager Jerry Manor.

Paying for groceries throughout Watertown: Also in June, we paid for nearly $2,000 in grocery costs throughout the city of Watertown! On Tuesday, June 15, SeaComm staff visited six grocery stores and surprised 12 unsuspecting shoppers by covering the cost of their groceries. Providing free ice cream to more than 900 local residents: In July, we provided free ice cream to more than 900 local residents across Northern New York and Vermont. Throughout National Ice Cream Month, we brought Ben & Jerry’s and Mr. Ding-A-Ling ice cream trucks to all nine communities with a SeaComm branch, and surprised individuals with ice cream and giveaway items. Surprising 20 local businesses with free pizza: In August, we showed our appreciation for local businesses with deliveries of pizza. SeaComm purchased 50 pizzas from Mimmo’s Pizzeria, and delivered them to more than 20 businesses throughout South Burlington. This random act of kindness is an effort to support the local business sector that plays a vital role in the community! Paying for all lunch orders at Bokie’s in Malone: Also in August, we covered the cost of lunch at Bokie’s in Malone. On Wednesday, August 18, from 11:00AM-3:00PM, more than 550 people came to Bokie’s Drive In to enjoy lunch on SeaComm. This event proved to be a great way to give back to the community while supporting a local business! Purchasing school supplies for the Watertown City School District: We recently delivered a large donation of school supplies to the Watertown City School District! The donation included notebooks, paper, binders, folders, tissues, writing utensils, and much more. This gesture will help to ensure that each student is well prepared for the new school year!
