Easy Ways to Save on Prescription Costs

Although some prescription medications are expensive, there are ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs and get the care you need. Here are four easy tips to help you save money!

Request generic medications. Generic medications have the same active ingredients as brand-name medications, but they are significantly less expensive. To help save money, make sure to check with your doctor if a generic option is available.

Open a Health Savings Account (HSA): An HSA with SeaComm enables an individual covered by a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) to make tax-deductible contributions, accumulate earnings on a tax-deferred basis, and withdraw money tax free to pay for out of pocket medical expenses, such as prescriptions. Click here to learn more.

Buy in bulk. Ask your doctor or insurance company if you can get a three-month (or longer) supply of your medications. This will allow you to save money and mitigate the hassle of having to make frequent trips to the pharmacy.
