Flu season is here. In addition to getting your seasonal vaccination, there are some effective health habits that won’t cost you a dime!
Avoid close contact. It’s important to avoid close contact with people who are sick – especially those with the flu! When you’re not feeling well, keep your distance from others to protect them from getting sick, as well.
Stay home when you’re sick. If you have flu-like symptoms, you should stay home from school or work for at least 24 hours after your fever has disappeared.
Cover your mouth and nose. Covering your mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing helps to prevent the virus from spreading to other people.
Keep your hands clean. You should avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth without first washing your hands, to ensure they are germ-free.
Maintain your immune system. You can benefit your whole body (and help to boost your immune system) by implementing healthy living strategies, such as consuming fruits and vegetables, exercising regularly, and getting plenty of rest.
