Save on airfare. If the wedding you’re attending requires long distance travel, the flight will likely be the most expensive part of the trip. Here are a few simple ways you can save on this expense:

  • Split the travel expenses with a friend. Share the costs of gas money or a rental car with other wedding guests.
  • Use your Benefits Plus® Checking account to get the lowest possible air fares! As a SeaComm member, you have access to a variety of travel discounts and more through Benefits Plus®…give us a call at (800) 764-0566 to learn more, or stop by your nearest SeaComm branch location to enroll!
  • Choose public transportation. If your destination is within driving distance, you might choose to hop on a train or board a bus to avoid airfare and fuel costs.

Think outside the registry. There’s no need to stick to a wedding registry, when it’s most likely filled with expensive gift recommendations! You can gift the couple with a more personalized gift, like a framed photo, a themed breakfast basket for the morning after, or tickets and reservations for an ideal date night. No one has to know how much (or how little) you’ve spent!

Use Airbnb. Instead of emptying your wallet on a hotel stay for every destination wedding you attend, check out Airbnb for cheaper accommodations. You can save even more by booking a private apartment or house to share with friends, by splitting the cost! Click here to read our blog article on tips to help you navigate the Airbnb app!
