Being a member of a credit union is beneficial for many reasons. Here are a few facts that make SeaComm stand out even more!

  1. SeaComm is a financial cooperative, also known as a credit union. While a traditional bank has “customers,” SeaComm has members. Each member owns a share in the credit union, and holds value within the financial institution. As a non-profit institution, SeaComm is not in the business of making money from fees and interest! As a credit union, SeaComm works to empower the financial lives of its membership and strengthen our communities.

  1. SeaComm initially operated from a tool box. Yes, you read that correctly. In 1963, ten visionary employees of Chevrolet Aluminum Foundry of GM Corporation in Massena each put $5 in a toolbox, to obtain a share in a newly formed organization that we know today as SeaComm Federal Credit Union.
