5 Summer Health Tips


You shouldn’t have to empty your wallet to enjoy a fun and active life. Continue reading for 5 tips that will help you to have a healthy summer on a budget!


Be generous with your sunscreen. It’s important to use a sunscreen that has at least SPF 30, in order to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Instead of purchasing this at your local grocery store, check the dollar store first. You’ll likely find the same quantity and SPF for a fraction of the price!

Invest in a water filter. Staying hydrated throughout a warm, humid summer is necessary. But instead of purchasing a case of bottled water each week, invest $15-$25 in a water filter than can attach directly to your sink. By using filtered water from your own tap, you’ll save a significant amount of money each summer!


Skip the store bought smoothies, and enjoy a cool drink at home. Healthy fruit smoothies can be tempting on a hot summer day, but instead of spending $7 for blended fruit – do it yourself! Get wet. Summer is the perfect time of year to get wet! Instead of paying almost $40 per ticket to enjoy a day at the water park, visit your local beach or rent a pair of kayaks. Pack a lunch, some beach games, and make a day out of it!


Take up a new hobby. This is the best time of year to try out some new hobbies and get some cardio in! Outdoor activities like gardening, hiking, swimming and bicycling are fun and inexpensive ways for you to enjoy beautiful weather.
