There’s no need to surrender to high prices during your summer vacation. You should be able to spend time with your friends and family without having to worry about money – and that’s why we’ve come up with this list of tips to ensure that you stay within budget while living the good-life. Continue reading – your wallet will thank you!
Plan ahead. If you haven’t already done so, book your reservations as far in advance as possible to lock in the best prices. Some all-inclusive resorts and cruises will actually allow you to pay off your trip over a period of a few months to a year (if that would be better for your bank account). You’ll find that in-demand locations and resorts will soar in price during the summer months, so time is of the essence!
Don’t waste your money on food. If it’s possible – book a room or suite that includes a kitchen (or at the very least, a microwave.) This will allow you a couple nights of eating food you’ve prepared yourself, instead of having to spend $60+ per day at local restaurants and eateries. If you know that you won’t have access to a kitchen or microwave, be sure to bring along plenty of prepared food; granola bars, chips and a cooler for drinks.
Look for family-package deals, or travel with friends. Vacation packages are a great way to enjoy luxury for less. Surf the internet for family vacation resorts that offer a discount for a large group. Don’t have a big family? Ask some friends to tag along! It’s a “win-win.”
And last, but not least – don’t forget to tell SeaComm where and when you will be traveling. We want to ensure that out-of-the-area activity generated on your debit and credit cards is in fact you, and not a sign of fraud. Call us at (315) 764-0566, and tell us about your plans!
