7 Free or Inexpensive Holiday Activities

I’ve done some research and found 7 fun activities to be enjoyed this holiday season, without stretching your budget – here they are!

Bake cookies. Nothing compares to the aroma of freshly baked Christmas cookies, other than the time spent preparing them with family. Check out these 8 tasty holiday cookie recipes, entirely budget friendly!

Take a walking tour of your neighborhood. ‘Tis the season for twinkle lights, 3D Santa Claus, and neighborhoods competing for the coveted role of best Christmas décor! Take your family or friends on a walking tour through your neighborhood so you can “ooh and awe” over the visual spectacle of your neighbors’ displays.

Host a Christmas party. Contrary to popular belief – hosting a number of friends and family at your home doesn’t have to break the bank! Go ice skating. You can rent some skates for just a few bucks, or if you own ice skates – even better! Grab some friends and family and head out to the rink for an afternoon of gliding fun. And if you really love to skate, I highly recommend taking a day trip this winter to skate the iconic Rideau Canal, in Ottawa, Ontario. This experience is inexpensive and one you will remember forever.

Make homemade ornaments. This activity is sure to entertain your family for hours, especially children!
